This article applies to versions 4.4.4 and later of IFS OI Explorer.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Overview<\/h2>\n

The Wind Vane\u00a0shows the current wind direction in relation to a nominated critical direction and associated zones.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The following diagram shows a Wind Vane\u00a0being configured:<\/p>\n

Note: Wind direction is expressed as an angle in degrees. For simplicity, you should enter the angles as values between 0-360. However, angles will wrap around 360 degrees to cater for sources that retrieve the value outside this range\u00a0(e.g. 400 deg = 40 deg, and 361 deg = 1 deg) .<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
Current Direction<\/strong>:<\/td>\nThe source\u00a0from which the Wind Vane\u00a0gets\u00a0its wind direction data.\u00a0<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Minimum Direction<\/strong>:<\/td>\nThe direction, in degrees, that is considered to be the lowest value for the wind direction.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Maximum Direction<\/strong>:<\/td>\nThe direction, in degrees, that is considered to be the highest\u00a0value for the wind direction.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Average Direction<\/strong>:<\/td>\nThe direction, in degrees, that is considered to be the mean\u00a0value for the wind direction. E.g. This could be used to indicate the prevailing wind.\u00a0<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Danger\u00a0Direction<\/strong>:<\/td>\nThe wind direction, in degrees, that indicates a potential problem. E.g. This could be used to indicate the direction of the nearest settlement to the facility.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Danger Range<\/strong>:<\/td>\nThe angle (in degrees), relative to the Danger Direction, designating\u00a0the total range that indicates\u00a0a potential problem. When the current wind direction is within this range, the colour changes to red. \u00a0Values greater than 360 are truncated to 360.
\nE.g.\u00a0If 45 is specified, the Danger Range\u00a0will be 22.5 degrees left of the Danger Direction and 22.5\u00a0degrees right of the Danger Direction, resulting in a total range of 45 degrees.\u00a0<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Warning\u00a0Range<\/strong>:<\/td>\nThe angle (in degrees), relative to the Danger Direction, designating\u00a0the range that indicates\u00a0a potential problem of lesser severity than the Danger Range. When the current wind direction is between\u00a0this range and the Danger Range, the colour changes to yellow.
\nThis value should be greater than the Danger Range value. If this value is less than or equal to the Danger Range, the wind vane will never show\u00a0a warning.\u00a0Values greater than 360 are truncated to 360.
\nE.g.\u00a0If 90 is specified, the Warning Range\u00a0will be 45 degrees left of the Danger Direction and 45 degrees right of the Danger Direction, resulting in a total range of 90 degrees.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Style<\/strong>:<\/td>\nThe style you want to apply to the Wind Vane\u00a0component.\u00a0If you are a Style Administrator, you can add a new Wind Vane\u00a0style.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Step 2. Add\u00a0the\u00a0Wind Vane<\/strong><\/p>\n

Drag and drop the Wind Vane\u00a0component\u00a0onto a grid cell.\u00a0The Wind Vane\u00a0is in the Display\u00a0\"Display\u00a0group. Position<\/a> it as follows:<\/p>\n
