For help on the latest version of the pivot table, see <a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/p2-explorer\/explorer-studio\/controls\/pivot-table\/\">Pivot Table<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"page-subheading\">Overview<\/h3>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">The Pivot Table allows users to automatically sum the data stored in a dataset, and display the results in a table with specified rows and columns. The Pivot Table component can be displayed on a page\u00a0as a preconfigured table, or it can allow the user to change the pivot points to analyse\u00a0different aspects of the source data.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">The following diagram shows a\u00a0Pivot Table being configured:<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/pivot.png\" rel=\"lightbox-0\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-3317\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/pivot-800x442.png\" alt=\"pivot\" width=\"800\" height=\"442\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"130\"><strong>Source Data<\/strong>:<\/td>\n<td>The dataset from which the pivot table sources its data.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>Columns<\/strong>:<\/td>\n<td>The columns of the dataset that appear as columns\u00a0in the pivot table.\u00a0<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>Rows<\/strong>:<\/td>\n<td>The columns of the dataset that appear as rows in the pivot table.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>Values<\/strong><\/td>\n<td>The columns of the dataset\u00a0that\u00a0the pivot table will analyse. \u00a0Not all columns\u00a0will be suitable to add to this area; you would typically only add those columns\u00a0with numerical values, such as downtime hours.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>Hide Config Panel<\/strong><\/td>\n<td>Select this check box if you do not want the configuration panel to be visible to the user. This will result in just the table being displayed on the page, and the user will be unable to change the pivot points.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 class=\"page-subheading\">Tutorial<\/h3>\n<div style=\"position: relative;\">\n<p class=\"intro-text\">The Pivot Table\u00a0is a useful component that enables users to view and analyse tabular data in different ways.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">In this tutorial, we\u2019ll look at adding a Pivot Table\u00a0that will change what is displayed as the user selects different times.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/downtimepivot.png\" rel=\"lightbox-1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-3461\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/downtimepivot-800x425.png\" alt=\"downtimepivot\" width=\"800\" height=\"425\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">Let\u2019s go through this process, step-by-step.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 class=\"page-subheading\"><span id=\"Step_by_Step_Creating_a_Time_Menuthat_Drives_a_LineChart\">Step by Step: Creating a Pivot Table Driven by a Range Picker and Entity Selector<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">Before you start, open a new tab in Explorer and click the \u201cCreate a New Page in Studio Mode\u201d thumbnail. Choose the <a title=\"Grid Layout\" href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/p2-explorer\/explorer-studio\/controls\/grid-layout\/\">grid<\/a>\u00a0layout \u2013 you can adjust the rows and columns if you like but it\u2019s not important for this exercise.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">You will need to adjust the configuration to suit your data at your site.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><strong>Step 1. Add the\u00a0source data<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/pivotdata.png\" rel=\"lightbox-2\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-3463\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/pivotdata-800x521.png\" alt=\"pivotdata\" width=\"800\" height=\"521\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">As Pivot Tables are designed to display data, the first thing we want to do is <a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/p2-explorer\/explorer-studio\/add-data\/\">add\u00a0the data<\/a> we want to display.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"intro-text\">\n<li>Add the <em>OilDowntimePivot<\/em>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/p2-explorer\/explorer-studio\/add-data\/add-a-dataset\/\">dataset<\/a>, and configure it as follows:\n<ul class=\"intro-text\">\n<li>StartDate:\u00a0(Event)\u00a0startDate<\/li>\n<li>EndDate: (Event) endDate<\/li>\n<li>EntitiesList: (Event) selectedEntities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">Later in this tutorial, we will add a date\/time range picker to supply the start and end dates, and an entity selector to supply the list of selected entities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><strong>Step 2.\u00a0\u00a0Add the Pivot Table\u00a0to the page<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-3462\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/pivotdrag-800x372.png\" alt=\"pivotdrag\" width=\"800\" height=\"372\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">Drag and drop the Pivot Table\u00a0component\u00a0onto a grid cell.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><strong>Step 3. Configure the Pivot Table<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/pivotconfig.png\" rel=\"lightbox-3\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-3464\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/pivotconfig-800x450.png\" alt=\"pivotconfig\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">In this example, we want the user to be able to specify their own rows, columns, and values for the pivot table, so we will configure these as events. Configure the Pivot Table as follows:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"intro-text\">\n<li>Source Data: OilDowntimePivot1<\/li>\n<li>Columns: (Event) cols<\/li>\n<li>Rows:\u00a0(Event) rows<\/li>\n<li>Values:\u00a0(Event) values<\/li>\n<li>Hide Config Panel: (unselected)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">Before we start creating events, there are 2 more components we want to add: an entity selector (so the user can specify the entities they are interested in) and a time range picker (so the user can specify the time range they are interested in). Let's do this now.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><strong>Step 4.
