This article applies to the Explorer Ribbon in versions 4.5.3 of P2 Explorer. For help on earlier versions, see Release History<\/a>. For the latest help, see Explorer Ribbon<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The P2 Explorer Ribbon is the main way to access the functionality of P2 Explorer.<\/p>\n

The ribbon contains two main tabs (Home and Admin), along with 6 other context-sensitive tabs appearing as needed (Studio, Trend, Page, Details, Trend Preview, and Page Preview).<\/p>\n

Additional custom-built tabs may appear if they have been configured for an organisation. There is also a Table of Contents tab, that appears when an entity is clicked in the hierarchy navigator; this tab is named for the selected entity.<\/p>\n

The ribbon has the following structure:<\/p>\n

1. Ribbon buttons<\/strong><\/td>\nThe buttons on the ribbon provide access to P2 Explorer functionality. If a function is unavailable, its button is greyed out.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
2. Active tab<\/strong><\/td>\nThe highlighted tab is the one that is currently selected.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
3. Ribbon tabs<\/strong><\/td>\nFunctionality is grouped into different tabs on the ribbon. See the following sections for detailed information on each tab.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
4. Button groups<\/strong><\/td>\nButtons are arranged in functional groups.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
5. Collapse button<\/strong><\/td>\nClicking the small arrow collapses the ribbon so that only the display tabs are visible.

Home Tab<\/h2>\n

The Home tab provides access to the high-level functions in P2 Explorer.<\/p>\n

\"home-icon\"<\/td>\nHome<\/strong><\/td>\nOpens the home page in a tab inside P2 Explorer<\/a>. A designated page can be configured as the Home page for a user group, by an administrator. If there is no designated page for the logged-in user, then this is greyed out.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
<\/td>\nWorkspaces<\/strong><\/td>\nOpens the list of workspaces<\/a> and a pop-out panel of the Pages (and Trends, in a separate tab) to which you have access.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
<\/td>\nSearch<\/strong><\/td>\nOpens a Search Page<\/a> in a new display tab, where you can search for pages, trends, and tags.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
<\/td>\nEnvironment<\/strong><\/td>\nOpens the My Environment<\/a> page, where you can see all your private pages and trends, as well as pages and trends pending approval, and snapshots.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
<\/td>\nHierarchy<\/strong><\/td>\nToggle button to open\/close the Hierarchy Navigator<\/a>. Use this to navigate to entities. You can open an attribute value's Point Detail<\/a> page from here.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
