Overview<\/h2>\n

The Tank\u00a0displays a data value as the percentage fill in a tank shape.<\/p>\n

The following diagram shows a Tank being configured:<\/p>\n

Value<\/strong>:<\/td>\nThe actual value\u00a0that determines the amount that the tank\u00a0is filled.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Minimum Value<\/strong>:<\/td>\nIf the Value<\/em> is below the Minimum Value,<\/em> then the tank appears empty, and the Minimum Value<\/em> is displayed instead of the Value.<\/em><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Maximum Value<\/strong>:<\/td>\nThe maximum value allowed for the fill.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Number of Ticks<\/strong>:<\/td>\nThe number of tick marks to display on the tank. Explorer uses this as a guide for the actual number of tick marks so that they are evenly spaced between the Minimum Value and the Maximum Value. If this is blank, Explorer will still display tick marks.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Show Value:<\/strong><\/td>\nSelect this check box if you want to display the numerical value of the fill (or minimum value).<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Decimals<\/strong>:<\/td>\nUse this to limit the decimal points for the displayed value.\u00a0<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
View Mode<\/strong>:<\/td>\nWhen you add a new Tank shape to a page, its default View Mode is 2D. Select 3D for a three-dimensional tank.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Style<\/strong>:<\/td>\nYou can apply a style to the Tank.\u00a0If you are a Style Administrator,\u00a0you can\u00a0add a new Tank\u00a0style<\/a>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Tutorial:\u00a0Configuring a Tank to Show Stored Oil<\/span><\/h2>\n

The Tank\u00a0is a useful component to display volume levels. In this topic, we\u2019ll show you how to use the Tank\u00a0to display the volume of oil stored\u00a0for a tag, with data that changes depending on the selected date. This is often used in production summary reports.<\/p>\n

Note<\/strong>: This configuration uses the Sample Data<\/em> tags that can optionally be made available\u00a0during initial installation and setup. If you don't have access to this data, you will need to adjust the configuration to suit your data at your site.<\/p>\n

Step 1. Prepare a Studio Page<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Click the New Page<\/strong>\u00a0button on the Home tab of the ribbon.<\/p>\n

Drag and drop a Tank\u00a0component\u00a0onto the page, then resize by dragging on one of the corners. The Tank is in the Display \"Display<\/a>\u00a0group.<\/p>\n

Step 3. Configure the Tank<\/strong><\/p>\n

In this example, we want the Tank to show us how much oil is stored for a tag, at a selected date.<\/p>\n

Click the tank to open the component editor.<\/p>\n

Step 4. And a Date Picker<\/strong><\/p>\n

We'll use this to show how the tank shows a different level when a different date is selected.<\/p>\n

Drag and drop a Date Picker\u00a0component\u00a0onto the page, next to the tank, then resize by dragging on one of the corners. The Date Picker is in the Time\u00a0group.<\/p>\n

There is no need to configure the date picker. The date picker's end time updates the page variable for end time. This is also used by the tank component's tags. Thus, when a user changes the date using the Date Picker control, the tank's tag data refreshes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
