For the latest, see <a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/p2-explorer\/explorer-integration\/link-to-a-frameless-explorer-page\/\">Linking to a Page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">P2 Explorer allows you to link to a saved page\u00a0via a URL. There are 2 ways of doing this:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"intro-text\">\n<li>Sharing the page\u00a0through the P2 Explorer framework<\/li>\n<li>Manually entering the URL - this is suitable for other applications that want to link to P2 Explorer pages<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><strong>Security considerations<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"intro-text\">\n<li>When you share a page, it will only be visible to people who have permission to view the workspace in which it is saved. The exception here is your Private Workspace; users can view a page shared from your private workspace while not having access to the workspace itself.<\/li>\n<li>People who do not have permission to view the included tags or attributes will not be able to view data for those tags or attributes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"left-bar\">Related: <a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/p2-explorer\/trends\/link-to-a-trend-via-a-url\/\">Linking to a Trend<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 class=\"page-subheading\"><span id=\"Option_1_Sharing_the_link_through_Explorer\">Option 1. Sharing a link through Explorer<\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">To create a page link using Explorer, open the page in display mode, then click the <strong>Share Link<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/shareicon.png\" rel=\"lightbox-0\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4161\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/shareicon.png\" alt=\"shareicon\" width=\"14\" height=\"13\" \/><\/a>\u00a0button on the Page\u00a0ribbon tab. The GUID is represented with a long sequence of letters and numbers. E.g.\u00a0<strong>\/Guid\/1fb11b18-c10a-48b4-8a82-224eef769280<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">The number after the GUID (e.g. <strong>\/147<\/strong>) represents the current state of the page, which is saved in the database with an incrementing ID every time this dialog box is opened. If you remove the state ID from the URL, the page will open with the default variable values instead of the current variable values.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Share-Page.png\" rel=\"lightbox-2\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30649 size-full alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Share-Page.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"589\" height=\"325\" srcset=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Share-Page.png 589w, https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Share-Page-150x83.png 150w, https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Share-Page-24x13.png 24w, https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Share-Page-36x20.png 36w, https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Share-Page-48x26.png 48w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 589px) 100vw, 589px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">In the <strong>Share Page<\/strong> dialog box, the <strong>Frameless URL<\/strong> check box is not selected.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">If you select the <strong>Frameless URL<\/strong> check box, the parameter\u00a0<strong>?frameless<\/strong> is automatically appended to the URL. The <strong>?frameless<\/strong> parameter causes the page to open outside of the P2 Explorer framework, so that it displays without the header or ribbon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">When the check box is cleared, the <strong>?frameless<\/strong> parameter is not included, and the resulting URL opens the page within the Explorer framework (so with the ribbon and headers).<\/p>\n<p class=\"note\">Note: In earlier versions of Explorer, the standard format of a page URL was: <br \/>\n <span class=\"code-fragment\"> [Explorer URL]\/Workspaces\/[workspace name]\/Pages\/[page\u00a0name]\/[state]<br \/>\n <\/span>This format has been retained for backward compatibility, but should not used when sharing a new page link.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 class=\"page-subheading\"><span id=\"Option_2_Manually_entering_a_URL\">Option 2. Manual link via URL<\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">You can choose to share a page via a URL, which uses a list of variables to specify the value of the variables on the page. This\u00a0allows you to link to a page with different default variables set, such as startTime, endTime, selectedEntity, etc.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"left-bar\">Related: <a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/p2-explorer\/explorer-primers\/variables\/\">Variables<\/a><\/p>\n<h3><span id=\"How_the_URL_is_constructed\">How the URL is constructed<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">The standard format of the page URL is as follows:<\/p>\n<p><code>[Explorer URL]\/Pages\/Guid\/[guid]?<span style=\"color: #0000dd;\">[variable list]<\/span><\/code><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">The syntax is slightly different for a page that has been shared from a private workspace (<em>My Workspace<\/em>):<\/p>\n<p><code>[Explorer URL]<span style=\"color: #0000dd;\">\/trends\/pages\/shared?linkKey=[link key]&amp;stateId=[state]<\/span><\/code><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">You should obtain the GUID by clicking the <strong>Share Link<\/strong> button on the ribbon. <em>Remember to remove the state ID from the link, otherwise your variables will clash<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">To use\u00a0a variable in the URL, add a question mark <strong>?<\/strong> followed by the list of variables in the format\u00a0<strong>variable\u00a0name=variable\u00a0value<\/strong>.
