Chart data, or traces, can be any time series data such as tags, attributes or calculations.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/p2-explorer\/trends\/trace-window\/#Y-Axes\">y-axes<\/a> (left and right)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/p2-explorer\/trends\/hairlines\/\">Hairlines<\/a> can be added to see more detailed data for a particular point in time<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/p2-explorer\/trends\/creating-a-trend\/#Tutorial_4_Hairline_and_Comments\">Comments<\/a> can be added from either the hairline information box or by clicking on the comment marker of an existing comment<\/li>\n<li>Cases associated with the trace entities can be opened by clicking on the square case marker at the bottom of the chart<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 class=\"page-subheading\">Maximizing the Trace Window<\/h2>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">The size of the Trace Window can be increased by clicking on the Range Selector, Controls, or Trace Table buttons on the toolbar to hide the respective sections, thereby maximizing the available space.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><em>Trace window before together or individually, and at the left or right side of the chart. It is set to left by default.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">From the trace table, for each trace select:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"intro-text\" style=\"list-style-type: circle !important;\">\n<li><strong>L<\/strong> to set a left y-axis<\/li>\n<li><strong>R<\/strong> to set a right y-axis<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/p2-explorer\/trends\/trend-toolbar\/\">Trend Toolbar<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Separate Y-Axes<\/h3>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">With Separate y-axes, each trace will have its own axis, but only one y-axis will be displayed on the left and right sides of the chart at a time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">To plot each trace against its own axis:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"intro-text\">Click <strong>Y-Axis<\/strong> on the toolbar and select <strong>Separate<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a maximum<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 id=\"Trend-min-and-max\">Trend Min and Max<\/h4>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">The trend minimum and maximum values determine the range of the y values displayed, and apply only to the shared y-axis mode.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">The Min and Max values are initially determined automatically by the minimum and maximum values of the traces on the trend for that axis, with Where the standard <em>Time Series<\/em> mode plots all trace items along a time axis (the X-Axis), <em>XY <\/em>mode plots the data using X and Y coordinates from two or more sets of data (there can be several sets of data against the y-axis that share the x-axis data's coordinates).<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">Use the XY mode to see how one set of data correlates with others. For example, rising temperatures may correspond to rising pressures, showing a high positive correlation. Or flowrate could be plotted against pressure, to see how these values relate over the defined period.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">Data is collected as it is for Time Series mode, although <em>Raw<\/em> and <em>Adaptive Raw<\/em> sample methods are not allowed. (If you change from Time Series mode to XY mode using either of these sample methods, the sample method is automatically changed to <em>Last Known Value<\/em>.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">In this example, we show the difference between Time Series mode and XY mode. This opens the comment window. Once you add and save a comment, a triangular comment marker appears on the hairline. This includes comments at the Entity, Entity: Attribute, and Entity:Attribute!Value level.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">Outlined triangles indicate comments on hidden traces, and traces that are not in the trace table, that are affiliated with an entity of a trace on the trend.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">In the example below, the comment shown is for the entity Archer Well, but it is associated with an attribute value that is not represented as a trace in the trace table. The time range in the panel adjusts to match the start and end times of the trend, rather than focusing solely on the comment\u2019s timestamp.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">You can also enable the <strong>Show Related<\/strong> toggle in the Explore panel to display comments for other attributes of the same entity.
