For help on earlier versions, see <a href=\"#Release_History\">Release History<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"overview\">A person can only access IFS OI Explorer if they are added as a user of the system. As a user, they will automatically be granted read permission for all of IFS OI Explorer, unless an object has been explicitly secured.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">In order to be able to add users, a user must be a Security administrator. There are two ways to add a new user:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"intro-text\">\n<li><strong>Active Directory<\/strong>: The AD Sync tool will automatically add all users in Active Directory that are configured to have access to IFS OI Explorer. For instructions on running the AD Sync tool, refer to the IFS OI<em>\u00a0Explorer Installation Guide<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Manual User<\/strong>: You can manually add a user who can access IFS OI Explorer, using either their domain credentials or a username and password.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">Once you have added a user, they are automatically added to the <em>Everyone<\/em> role. In addition, assign the user to other roles if they require further privileges. Open IFS OI Server Management, and click the <b>Security\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-55946\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Security.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"20\" height=\"20\" srcset=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Security.png 146w, https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Security-48x48.png 48w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 20px) 100vw, 20px\" \/><\/b>\u00a0icon.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">2. Click\u00a0<strong>Users\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-37857 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/user-icon.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"17\" height=\"18\" \/><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">3. On the <strong>User<\/strong> page, fill in the details:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"intro-text\">\n<li><strong>Username<\/strong>: The username must not contain <a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/p2-server\/primers\/reserved-characters-keywords\/\">reserved characters or words<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Display name<\/strong>: The name you want displayed in the application header and selection lists.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Login Method<\/strong>: Choose \"Windows\" if you want the user to use their Windows domain credentials (managed in Active Directory), or choose \"Forms\" if you want the user to log in with their user name and a password.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Password<\/strong>: This only applies to the Forms login method, as Windows users will use the password managed in Active Directory. There is no restriction on a password, however you should adhere to your corporate policy.<\/li>\n<li><strong>PIN: <\/strong>The PIN is between 4 and 10 numerical characters long and is used to authenticate workbook changes. See <a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/p2-server\/security\/add-a-new-user\/#Setting_a_PIN\">Setting a PIN<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Email:\u00a0<\/strong>Fill in the email field to receive email notifications from the Rules Engine.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Deactivated<\/strong>: Selecting this check box will prevent the user from being able to log in. You may wish to do this if you want to create a user account, but do not want them to access the system until a later date. You will need to come back in and clear this check box when you want them to have access.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Time Zone: <\/strong>The user Time Zone can be set in the User profile configuration, or by the user clicking on the <a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/p2-explorer\/explorer-getting-started\/managing_your_time_zones\/#Changing_the_User_Time_Zone\">time zone<\/a> next to the username in Explorer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Snag_6285a82.png\" rel=\"lightbox-1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-55948\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Snag_6285a82-600x507.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"844\" srcset=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Snag_6285a82-600x507.png 600w, https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Snag_6285a82-768x648.png 768w, https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Snag_6285a82-150x127.png 150w, https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Snag_6285a82-1080x912.png 1080w, https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Snag_6285a82-48x41.png 48w, https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Snag_6285a82.png 1253w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">5.
