This article applies to versions 4.6 and later of IFS OI Explorer.<\/p>\n

After creating a user, you need to assign them to a role in order for them to inherit the privileges associated with that role.<\/p>\n

This must be done by a Security administrator.<\/p>\n

Assigning Roles<\/h2>\n

To assign a role to a user:<\/p>\n

1. In IFS OI Server Management,\u00a0 click the Security\u00a0\"\"<\/b>\u00a0icon.\u00a0<\/p>\n

2. Click\u00a0Users\u00a0\"\"<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

3. Click the name of the user in the\u00a0list.<\/p>\n

4. Click the Edit<\/strong> button at the right of the Assigned Roles\u00a0<\/strong>list.<\/p>\n

Note: If the user is part of an AD group, they will appear in the Assigned User Groups list. This list cannot be edited.<\/p>\n

The list of Assigned Roles\u00a0<\/strong>expands to two columns: All Roles\u00a0<\/strong>on the left and Assigned Roles\u00a0<\/strong>on the right.<\/p>\n

Assigned Roles\u00a0<\/em>are the roles that have been assigned to this user.<\/p>\n
