This article applies to versions 4.9.10 and later of IFS OI Explorer. For help on earlier versions, see Release History<\/em> below.<\/p>\n

For tablet devices, Explorer supports a screen resolution of 1138x712 and 712x1138.<\/p>\n

For desktop and laptop devices, Explorer supports a minimum screen resolution of 1920x1080.<\/p>\n

When you first open Explorer, you are usually presented with a home page. The home page contains information that your organization has developed that they specifically want you to see when you first open Explorer.<\/p>\n

The dark grey Explorer header and icon bar on the left is known as the 'framework', and provides the mechanism for navigating Explorer and accessing its functionality.<\/p>\n

1<\/strong><\/td>\nExplorer Display<\/strong><\/td>\nThe main window of IFS OI Explorer is where displays<\/em> appear.\u00a0Displays include pages<\/a> and trends<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Usually, you will have a default page that appears here whenever you open IFS OI Explorer. If a default page is not set, you will see a list of workspaces.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

When you open a display, a new tab is added in Explorer. You can:<\/p>\n

Shortcut Toolbar<\/strong><\/td>\nThis toolbar provides easy access to key functionality in Explorer, plus additional licensable modules such as A-Plus and Shift Log.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Shortcut Toggle<\/strong><\/td>\nThe toggle icon \"Icon<\/a> allows you to hide the shortcut toolbar if you need the extra room for your displays.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Company Logo<\/strong><\/td>\nClick the IFS OI Logo \"Small <\/strong>to open the About Box<\/strong>. The About Box displays version information and copyright details for the application.<\/p>\n

Explorer Ribbon<\/a><\/strong><\/td>\n\n

The IFS OI Explorer Ribbon is the main way to access the functionality of IFS OI Explorer. The ribbon contains two main tabs (Home and Admin), along with 6 other context-sensitive tabs appearing as needed (Studio, Trend, Page, Details, Trend Preview, and Page Preview).<\/p>\n

Additional custom-built tabs may appear if they have been configured for an organization. There is also a Table of Contents tab, that appears when an entity is clicked in the hierarchy navigator; this tab is named for the selected entity.<\/p>\n

If a function is unavailable, its button will be greyed out.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Search<\/strong><\/a><\/td>\nThe search field \"Search<\/strong>allows you to searches all of Explorer for tags, entities, entries, pages, and trends.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Display Information<\/a><\/strong><\/td>\nThe light bulb icon \"light is used to access Display Information for all trends, pages, and workbooks, in Explorer. This panel displays a variety of information related to the display. You can open Display Information by:<\/p>\n

  • Clicking this icon.<\/li>\n
  • Clicking the Info button on an Explorer page (if present).<\/li>\n
  • Clicking the Info button on an Explorer page tab.<\/li>\n

Notifications<\/a><\/strong><\/td>\nThe bell icon \"Notification<\/a> allows you to open the Notifications panel. When a case is assigned to you, a Case Notification is added to your list of notifications.
