It describes the type of component and allows you to specify properties that are specific to the component. Component properties are described in the relevant section in <a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/sentinel\/sentinel-studio\/component-logic-functions\">Component Logic Functions<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-43045 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/word-image-39.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"249\" height=\"338\" srcset=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/word-image-39.png 249w, https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/word-image-39-111x150.png 111w, https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/word-image-39-18x24.png 18w, https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/word-image-39-27x36.png 27w, https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/word-image-39-35x48.png 35w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 249px) 100vw, 249px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">Here are some of the properties a component may have:<\/p>\n<p class=\"dl-term\">Num Inputs \/ Num Outputs<\/p>\n<p class=\"dl-def\">Allows you to specify the number of input (or output) pins for the component.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dl-term\">Name<\/p>\n<p class=\"dl-def\">Allows you to specify the name of the component.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dl-term\">Case sensitive comparison<\/p>\n<p class=\"dl-def\">Allows strings to be compared on the basis of upper and lower-case letters.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dl-term\">Memory Key<\/p>\n<p class=\"dl-def\">The identifier for an item in <a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/sentinel\/sentinel-studio\/component-logic-functions\/memory\/\">memory<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dl-term\">Metadata Keys<\/p>\n<p class=\"dl-def\">Allows you to add additional data to the event, which can be viewed in the event report for the monitor in Sentinel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dl-term\">State<\/p>\n<p class=\"dl-def\">The name of the state that the event causes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dl-term\">Default State<\/p>\n<p class=\"dl-def\">Specify the selected state in the process as the default or \"normal\" state for the process.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">Components may also have other properties.
