{"id":42189,"date":"2018-12-06T12:48:05","date_gmt":"2018-12-06T04:48:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/help\/?page_id=42189"},"modified":"2024-07-09T10:27:01","modified_gmt":"2024-07-09T02:27:01","slug":"exporting-and-importing-a-process","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/sentinel\/sentinel-studio\/creating-user-processes\/exporting-and-importing-a-process\/","title":{"rendered":"Exporting and Importing a Process"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"intro-text\">Sentinel Studio provides an import and export facility, which is useful when:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"intro-text\">\n<li>You need to contact Customer Support, you can export a process you are having difficulties with and attach it to your support ticket.<\/li>\n<li>You want to share a process with someone who is using a separate instance of IFS OI Sentinel, you can export the process for your colleague to import into their environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"note\">Note: If you do not see the import\/export options, you may not have the appropriate privilege levels. Contact your system administrator.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"page-subheading\">Exporting<\/h2>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">You can export the currently loaded user process (even if it has not been <a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/sentinel\/sentinel-studio\/creating-user-processes\/saving-a-process\/\">saved<\/a>), or select several previously saved processes to export in bulk to a zip file.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><strong>Exporting the Current Process:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">1. From the menu, click <em>File &gt; Export User Process<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">2. Save the file to a location on your computer, or a computer to which you have network access. The file type must be .<strong>senproc<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><strong>Exporting Multiple Processes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">1. From the menu, click <em>File &gt; Load\/Manage User Process<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">2. Select the processes you want to export by pressing the Control key while you click the relevant processes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"left-bar\">Note: You can only export processes that have been previously saved.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">3. Save the file to a location on your computer, or a computer to which you have network access. The file type must be .<strong>zip<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"page-subheading\">Importing<\/h2>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">You can import a single process, or a zip file containing several processes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">If you import a process that was exported from the <strong>same system<\/strong>, and the name of the process is the same, the process will be imported as a <strong>new version<\/strong> of that process. For example, say you have a process named Alarm which is currently at version 5. If you export that process and import it again, it will be imported as version 6 of Alarm.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">If you import a process that was exported from a <strong>different system<\/strong>, and the name of the process is the same, the process will be imported with a <strong>GUID pre-pended<\/strong> to the name, and you will be prompted to update the name. The file type must be .zip and must contain .<strong>senproc<\/strong> file types.
