{"id":44372,"date":"2021-02-10T15:03:01","date_gmt":"2021-02-10T07:03:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/help\/?page_id=44372"},"modified":"2025-08-13T14:42:38","modified_gmt":"2025-08-13T06:42:38","slug":"analysis","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/p2-explorer\/trends\/analysis\/","title":{"rendered":"Models"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"left-bar\">This article applies to versions 4.7 and later of IFS OI Explorer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"overview\">The Analysis panel in the Explorer Trend extends the capabilities of the trend to enable the creation and visualization of complex models directly against any timeseries data in the system.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">The first models that have been provided are line fitting methods (linear, polynomial, and logarithmic). These will be expanded to include many other types of models.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">When an analysis has been created and is saved, the output of the model is saved as a data tag.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">These tags can be used anywhere in the system where datasource tags are used, such as in calculations, on dashboards, or in Sentinel monitors. You can specify the exact dates manually, or you can use a hairline to provide the dates. If you would like to exclude statistically irrelevant data points, there are two filters that provide this capability: Standard Deviation and Interquartile Range. These filters provide an easy way to exclude data outliers and ensure that only clean data is used in training. This provides a way to manipulate the data to determine the best result before executing the analysis.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">The available parameters depend on the model selected.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">In this section, you can:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"intro-text\">\n<li>Adjust the coefficients to try and get a better fit for your analysis. After changing one of the coefficients, click the <strong>Execute<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/execute-icon.png\" rel=\"lightbox-17\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-45427\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/execute-icon.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"14\" height=\"10\" \/><\/a> icon to see the change reflected in the trend.<\/li>\n<li>Remove the analysis trace from the trend, but retain the inputs in the side panel. The Analysis tag inherits min and max and some other values from the underlying tag.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 class=\"page-subheading\">Saving the Analysis<\/h2>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">To save your trained analysis:<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">1. Click the<strong> Save Analysis<\/strong> button at the bottom of the New Analysis panel.\u00a0The name will be pre-populated with the name of the tag and 'Analysis' at the end.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">2. Change the <strong>Name<\/strong> to whatever you wish (note that the standard <a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/p2-server\/primers\/reserved-characters-keywords\/\">reserved characters<\/a> apply).<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">3.
