{"id":45235,"date":"2020-02-03T10:56:50","date_gmt":"2020-02-03T02:56:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/?page_id=45235"},"modified":"2024-07-05T12:26:24","modified_gmt":"2024-07-05T04:26:24","slug":"navigating-excel-add-in","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/p2-server\/xla\/navigating-excel-add-in\/","title":{"rendered":"Navigating Excel Add-in"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"intro-text\">IFS OI Excel Add-in adds a IFS OI<strong>\u00a0Explorer<\/strong> tab to the office ribbon, which is where you access all the application's functionality.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">The ribbon is divided into three groups:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"intro-text\">\n<li><strong>IFS OI Explorer Tasks<\/strong>: All tasks in IFS OI Excel Add-in that relate to entities from IFS OI Explorer.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Quick Search<\/strong>:\u00a0Provides an alternative way in which to search for an entity.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tools<\/strong>: Administration information and assistance with IFS OI Excel Add-in.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">Clicking on any button in the ribbon opens up a <strong>task pane<\/strong> on the right side of the window, displaying the options available for that task.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1045\" height=\"846\" class=\"wp-image-45244\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/word-image.png\" srcset=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/word-image.png 1045w, https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/word-image-768x622.png 768w, https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/word-image-150x121.png 150w, https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/word-image-600x486.png 600w, https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/word-image-48x39.png 48w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1045px) 100vw, 1045px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">Clicking <strong>Entities <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"16\" height=\"18\" class=\"wp-image-45245\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/word-image-1.png\" \/><\/strong> or <strong>Search <\/strong><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" class=\"wp-image-45246\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/word-image-2.png\" \/><\/strong> both display the <strong>Find Entities<\/strong> panel, but with the appropriate tab selected:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"intro-text\">Clicking <strong>Entities <\/strong>opens the Find Entities panel with the Entities tab selected.<\/li>\n<li class=\"intro-text\">Entering text into the <strong>Quick Search<\/strong> field and clicking the search button next to it (or pressing Enter) displays the Find Entities panel with the Tag Search tab selected.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">Clicking the <strong>Refresh <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" class=\"wp-image-45247\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/word-image-3.png\" \/><\/strong> button (or pressing CTRL+ALT+F9) updates all the IFS OI Explorer data in the spreadsheet.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"note\"><strong>Note<\/strong>: If you have copied cells from Sheet1 into another sheet, clicking Refresh will not update the cells in the copied sheet.<\/p>\n<p class=\"left-bar\">Tip: When creating graphs in Excel using Raw data from IFS OI Explorer, it is recommended that an XY (Scatter) chart is used, to accurately reflect the span of time for intra-day time series charts.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"page-subheading\">Side Panel Tasks<\/h2>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">The toolbar on the Task panels group common actions in a single place. The appearance of the <a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/p2-server\/xla\/connection-status\/\">Connection Status<\/a> icon indicates the success of the last request to IFS OI Excel Add-in.
