This article applies to P2 Field Operator: Explorer Edition version 4.4. For the latest help, see Form Readings<\/a>.<\/p>\n

There are two types of readings that are entered into Field Operator, one is the Daily Readings, the other is Forms.<\/p>\n

All readings that are not Daily Readings<\/a> are Forms.<\/p>\n

Finding a Form<\/h2>\n

Select Forms on the Navigation Ribbon<\/a> in Map View<\/a>, Grid View<\/a>, or Location Detail<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In Map View<\/h3>\n

A summary of the forms entered in the last two days is displayed in the Information Panel on the left side of the screen.<\/p>\n

To open a form click the Location Summary, and the Location Overview<\/a> box will open and display the selected form.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

In Location Overview, scroll down to see other fields in the form that may not be visible. The form is not editable in this view.<\/p>\n

Click on the Location Detail \"\" icon to open the form, and to edit it.<\/p>\n

In Grid View<\/h3>\n

Forms from the last three months can be filtered by time or location, and by type.<\/p>\n

4.<\/strong><\/td>\nLocation<\/strong><\/td>\nClick a location to view all the forms for the location.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
5.<\/strong><\/td>\nForm Type<\/strong><\/td>\nClick a tab to filter the list of forms by type.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
6.<\/strong><\/td>\nA Form<\/strong><\/td>\n\n

Click an entry to open and update, or delete a form.<\/p>\n

Forms are only editable for a fixed length of time. This time limit is set by the system administrator (in the Merrick Metadata Configuration Utility).<\/p>\n

Data entry fields are disabled in forms that are not editable.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

In Grid View there is up to three months of historical forms data available to view. Scroll down to view all the forms, and scroll across to view all the data in the forms.<\/p>\n

In Location Detail<\/h3>\n

See all the forms for the selected location. The list of forms can be filtered by entity and type.<\/p>\n

Add a New Form<\/h2>\n

A new form can be added by clicking the Add \"\" icon from either Grid View<\/a> or Location Detail<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Click the drop-down arrow and select a form type from the list.<\/p>\n

The different forms have different purposes and are designed to collect data relevant to their use.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

2.<\/strong><\/td>\nRoute<\/strong><\/td>\n\n

Click the drop-down arrow and select a route from the list.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

3.<\/strong><\/td>\nLocation<\/strong><\/td>\nClick the drop-down arrow and select a location that is on the selected route.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
4.<\/strong><\/td>\nSearch<\/strong><\/td>\n\n

Search for an entity in the currently selected location.<\/p>\n

Search results will automatically display when you enter:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • One character that is the start, of an entity name<\/li>\n
  • Three characters that are any part, of an entity name<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
5.<\/strong><\/td>\nEntity<\/strong><\/td>\nSelect an entity from the list.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
6.<\/strong><\/td>\nAdd<\/strong><\/td>\nClick OK<\/strong> to open the new form and enter the Form Readings.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
7.<\/strong><\/td>\nCancel<\/strong><\/td>\nClick Cancel<\/strong> to go back to the previous screen without creating a new form.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The new form is displayed in front of a table of past forms, of the same type for the same location. Making it easy to check the new data against the historical data.<\/p>\n

Entering Form Readings<\/h2>\n

The different forms are designed to collect a range of Form Readings.<\/p>\n

The methods of data entry are the same across the different form types.<\/p>\n

Click the field to open the data entry box.<\/p>\n

Click a field and enter readings by using a keyboard, or the onscreen number pad.<\/p>\n

The active data entry field is outlined in dark blue.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

All greyed out data entry fields are disabled.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

8.<\/strong><\/td>\nCalculation Type<\/strong><\/td>\n\n

Click the field to choose between System Calculated<\/strong>, Manual Volume<\/strong> and Net Calculated<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Click\u00a0Image Capture<\/strong> to take a photo with your device's camera.<\/p>\n
