There are 2 ways of doing this:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"intro-text\">\n<li>Sharing a\u00a0link to a trend through the P2 Explorer framework. You can link to a saved trend or a blank trend.<\/li>\n<li>Creating a dynamic trend by manually entering a\u00a0URL, and adding parameters to a URL.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><strong>Security considerations<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"intro-text\">\n<li>When you share a <strong>saved<\/strong> trend, it will only be visible to people who have permission to view the workspace in which it is saved.\u00a0The exception here is your Private Workspace; users can view a trend shared from your private workspace, while not having access to the workspace itself.<\/li>\n<li>People who do not have <strong>permission<\/strong> to view the included tags or attributes will not be able to view data for those tags or attributes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"left-bar\">Related: <a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/p2-explorer\/explorer-integration\/link-to-a-frameless-explorer-page\/\">Linking to a Page<\/a><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"page-subheading\">Option 1. The GUID is represented with a long sequence of letters and numbers. E.g.\u00a0<strong>\/Guid\/65cb49ce-6590-ec11-a982-005056b651de\/<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">The number after the GUID, the ID (e.g. <strong>4731<\/strong>), represents the current state of the trend at a particular point in time, and will increment each time the Share Link function is selected. The Link Key is represented by a long sequence of letters and numbers that identifies the trend. This number is saved in the database with an incrementing ID every time this dialog box is opened.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Trend-Links-4.png\" rel=\"lightbox-5\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-46926 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Trend-Links-4.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"543\" height=\"289\" srcset=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Trend-Links-4.png 543w, https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Trend-Links-4-150x80.png 150w, https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Trend-Links-4-48x26.png 48w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 543px) 100vw, 543px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h4>Framed or Frameless URL<\/h4>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">In the <strong>Share Link<\/strong>\u00a0dialog box, the <strong>Frameless URL<\/strong> check box is not selected.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">If you select the <strong>Frameless URL<\/strong> check box, the <strong>frameless<\/strong> parameter\u00a0is automatically appended to the URL. The <strong>frameless<\/strong> parameter causes the trend to open outside of the P2 Explorer framework, so that it displays without the header or ribbon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">When the check box is cleared, the <strong>frameless<\/strong> parameter is not included, and the resulting URL opens the trend within the Explorer framework (so with the ribbon and headers).<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 class=\"page-subheading\">Option 2. Dynamic trend via URL<\/h2>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">You can choose to share a dynamic trend via a URL, which uses a list of variables to specify the tags, as well as some of the trend controls. This\u00a0allows you to link to a trend with certain\u00a0options already selected, such as tags, time range, sample interval, etc.<\/p>\n<h3>How the URL is constructed<\/h3>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">The URL can be for a saved trend (where there is a GUID) or for a new, unsaved trend (with no GUID), called \"Blank Trend\".<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><strong>Blank Trend URL<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">The standard format of a blank trend URL is as follows:<\/p>\n<p><code>[Explorer URL]\/trend<span style=\"color: #0000dd;\">[?variable list]<\/span><\/code><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">If you copy the URL for a particular unsaved trend (Blank Trend) from the <strong>Share Link<\/strong>, the state id is included:<\/p>\n<p><code>[Explorer URL]\/trend\/[state]<span style=\"color: #0000dd;\">[?variable list]<\/span><\/code><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><strong>Saved Trend URL<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">The standard format of a saved trend URL is as follows:<\/p>\n<p><code>[Explorer URL]\/Trends\/Guid\/[GUID]\/[state]<span style=\"color: #0000dd;\">[?variable list]<\/span><\/code><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">You can remove the state from the URL, so that it is strictly the saved version of the trend. This is the format it will now have:<\/p>\n<p><code>[Explorer URL]\/Trends\/Guid\/[GUID]<span style=\"color: #0000dd;\">[?variable list]<\/span><\/code><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><strong>Private Trend URL<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">The syntax is slightly different for a trend that has been shared from a <strong>private workspace<\/strong> (<em>My Workspace<\/em>):<\/p>\n<p><code>[Explorer URL]<span style=\"color: #0000dd;\">\/trends\/trends\/shared?linkKey=[link key]&amp;stateId=[state]<\/span><\/code><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><strong>Adding Variable Parameters<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">To use\u00a0a variable in the URL, add a question mark <strong>?<\/strong> followed by the list of variables in the format\u00a0<strong>variable\u00a0name=variable\u00a0value<\/strong>. The variables\u00a0correspond with various controls available on the trend.<\/p>\n<p class=\"left-bar-red\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Important<\/span><\/strong>: The variables you use affect the time range of the chart, data collection method and interval, Y Scale Type, and number of allowable hairlines, as well as trace items such as tags. It is important that you consider the amount of data that your trend will fetch, and how this affects Explorer's performance. For example, do not request three months of data at a five second sample interval.
