Please ask your System Administrator to make a backup of your Sentinel database before you proceed with the import, in case you need to revert to your pre-import configuration.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">You will need a Sentinel Migration Package to import. This can either be a zipped (.zip) file, or a plain .xml file, created by an export from another Sentinel environment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">To import to Sentinel:<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">1. Click the <strong>Menu<\/strong> button below the Sentinel header.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">2. Click the <strong>Import<\/strong> panel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"left-bar\">Note: This panel is disabled if you do not have permissions to import to a Sentinel environment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">An <strong>Open <\/strong>dialog box appears.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">4. Navigate to the folder containing the package you want to import.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">5. Click on the file, and click <strong>Open<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"note\">Note: If the migration package is corrupt, the <strong>import cannot continue<\/strong>. An error message window appears. Click <strong>OK<\/strong> to close the window. The <strong>Import<\/strong> tab closes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">If this is a valid Sentinel migration package, the <strong>Import<\/strong> tab opens.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"766\" height=\"555\" class=\"wp-image-59174\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/word-image-58852-4.png\" srcset=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/word-image-58852-4.png 766w, https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/word-image-58852-4-150x109.png 150w, https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/word-image-58852-4-600x435.png 600w, https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/word-image-58852-4-48x35.png 48w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 766px) 100vw, 766px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">The following information appears on the different panels of the <strong>Import<\/strong> tab.<\/p>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr style=\"border: 1px solid #cccccc;\">\n<td><strong>Migration Package<\/strong><\/td>\n<td>Contains the following information relating to the package:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>File Name<\/strong>: The file name of the migration package.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Package Description<\/strong>: The description that was supplied at the time that the export package was created (if no package description was added, this header does not appear).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sentinel Version<\/strong>: The full version number of the migration package Sentinel version (for example 4.0.2.20); this has a tick <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" class=\"wp-image-59175\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/word-image-58852-5.png\" \/> icon if there are no Sentinel version compatibility issues. If the Sentinel instance that you are importing to has an earlier version number than the migration package version number, the versions are incompatible, and an error icon <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" class=\"wp-image-59176\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/word-image-58852-6.png\" \/> is displayed along with an error message showing the version number of this Sentinel instance.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Package Version<\/strong>: The full package number of the migration package Sentinel version (e.g. 1.0)<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" class=\"wp-image-59177\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/word-image-58852-7.png\" \/> No package version compatibility issues.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" class=\"wp-image-59178\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/word-image-58852-8.png\" \/> If the Sentinel instance that you are importing to has a different package number than the migration package number, the Sentinel version package numbers are incompatible, and an error icon is displayed along with an error message showing the package number of this Sentinel instance.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Contents<\/strong>: The content of the migration package, broken down into separate counts for folders, monitors and workspaces.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Export Details<\/strong>: The user name of the user who performed the export operation, the exporting server name, and the date\/time that the migration package was created.<br \/>\nNote: If either the Sentinel version or the Package version number is incompatible, <strong>the import cannot continue<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr style=\"border: 1px solid #cccccc;\">\n<td><strong>Import Options<\/strong><\/td>\n<td>The default import options:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Submit imported monitors and new monitor versions<\/strong>: This option is only available if this instance of Sentinel is configured to use Change Management. If you select the check box, then imported monitors, or existing monitors with new versions, are automatically submitted for approval if the check box is selected.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Always add new monitor versions<\/strong>: If selected, the system always imports this version of the monitor. If not selected, the system will only import this monitor version if it does not already exist in the instance of Sentinel.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr style=\"border: 1px solid #cccccc;\">\n<td><strong>Preview after import<\/strong><\/td>\n<td>The Preview after import panel on the right side of the Import tab shows a preview of what the Workspace panel will contain after the import. This includes what is currently in the Workspace panel, as well as the newly imported items.<\/p>\n<p>You can navigate through the Preview after import panel in the same way that you navigate through the Workspace panel. The following labels are appended to the import item (workspace\/folder\/monitor) names as applicable. <br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"336\" height=\"146\" class=\"wp-image-59179\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/c-users-gabrie1-lan-appdata-local-temp-snaghtml9.png\" alt=\"C:\\Users\\GABRIE~1.LAN\\AppData\\Local\\Temp\\SNAGHTML903e0b4c.PNG\" srcset=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/c-users-gabrie1-lan-appdata-local-temp-snaghtml9.png 336w, https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/c-users-gabrie1-lan-appdata-local-temp-snaghtml9-150x65.png 150w, https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/c-users-gabrie1-lan-appdata-local-temp-snaghtml9-48x21.png 48w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 336px) 100vw, 336px\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>New<\/strong>: The <strong>New<\/strong> label indicates that the item to be imported is completely new to this Sentinel instance.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Modified<\/strong>: The <strong>Modified<\/strong> label indicates that the applicable workspace or folder to be imported contains items that already exist in this instance of Sentinel.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Moved<\/strong>: The <strong>Moved<\/strong> label indicates that the item to be imported already exists in this instance of Sentinel, but is in a different location (folder or workspace). During import, the item is moved to its new location (as it exists in the migration package).<\/li>\n<li><strong>New Version<\/strong>: Only monitors will have the <strong>New<\/strong> <strong>Version<\/strong> label. This label appears for monitors that already exist in this Sentinel instance, but where the migration package version is different from the version in this instance of Sentinel.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><strong>New items with the same name:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">If a workspace in the migration package has the same name as an existing workspace, but is not actually the same workspace, then the workspace to be imported will have suffix of \u201c(1)\u201d, after the import. For example, \u201cDoc workspace 2\u201d is imported as \u201cDoc workspace 2 (1)\u201d. If needed, change one or both of the import options by selecting or deselecting the relevant check boxes in the <strong>Import Options<\/strong> panel. Options: <em>Submit imported monitors and new monitor versions<\/em> and <em>Always add new monitor versions<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">7. Review the Preview after import panel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">8. Click <strong>Import<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">9.
