{"id":58856,"date":"2023-02-17T14:55:44","date_gmt":"2023-02-17T06:55:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/sentinel\/analyzing-sentinel-events\/viewing-events\/"},"modified":"2024-07-09T09:04:32","modified_gmt":"2024-07-09T01:04:32","slug":"viewing-events","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/sentinel\/analyzing-sentinel-events\/viewing-events\/","title":{"rendered":"Viewing Events in Sentinel"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"left-bar\">Privileges: Users who can view a workspace, can view any of the events in the workspace.\u00a0<br \/>\n- To add or edit an event view you need a security role that has the <strong>Sentinel<\/strong> <strong>Workspaces Edit <\/strong>privilege.<br \/>\n- To delete an event view, you need a security role that has the <strong>Sentinel<\/strong> <strong>Admin<\/strong> privilege.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">In Sentinel, you can view all current events across all public workspaces, or you can view all current events for a workspace, a folder, or a monitor. If you have privileges, you can edit events, from within the event viewer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">If you have privileges, you can delete events (and related cases) for a monitor. The page title is the monitor name.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 class=\"page-subheading\">Viewing Events Via URL<\/h2>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">There is a URL command for the Event Viewer, which uses the <strong>EventViewer.aspx<\/strong> page on the Sentinel Server.<\/p>\n<p class=\"no-toc-heading\">URL for an Event Viewer<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">The following URL applies to the Event Viewer:<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><em>https:\/\/[server name]\/Sentinel\/EventViewer.aspx?MonitorName=[monitor name]<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">The first section of the URL is always:<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><em>https:\/\/[server name]\/Sentinel\/EventViewer.aspx<\/em> where [server name] is the name of the Sentinel Server.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">The remaining portion of the URL uses one of the three parameters:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"intro-text\">\n<li class=\"intro-text\">MonitorName<\/li>\n<li class=\"intro-text\">FolderName<\/li>\n<li class=\"intro-text\">WorkspaceName<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"note\">Note: All three parameters are case sensitive.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">The parameters are defined as follows:<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><strong>MonitorName<\/strong>:\u00a0The name of the monitor to show events for, for example \"Pressure Monitor\".<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><strong>FolderName<\/strong>:\u00a0The name of the folder to show events for, for example \"Wells\".<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><strong>WorkspaceName<\/strong>:\u00a0The name of the workspace to show events for, for example \"Operations\".<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">Using the values used in the various parameter definitions above, the final URL will look like this (with a server name of myServer):<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><strong>Sentinel Event Viewer URL for a monitor:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><em>https:\/\/myServer\/Sentinel\/EventViewer.aspx?MonitorName=Pressure Monitor<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><strong>Sentinel Event Viewer URL for a folder:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><em>https:\/\/myServer\/Sentinel\/EventViewer.aspx?FolderName=Wells<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><strong>Sentinel Event Viewer URL for a workspace:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><em>https:\/\/myServer\/Sentinel\/EventViewer.aspx?WorkspaceName=Operations<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">Note: When constructing the URL, ensure that the first parameter is preceded by the question mark (?) symbol. Subsequent parameters must be preceded by the ampersand (&amp;) symbol.<\/p>\n<p class=\"no-toc-heading\">Additional Parameters<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">As well as specifying the monitor name, folder name or workspace name you can optionally add one or both of the following parameters.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><strong>TimePeriod<\/strong>:\u00a0The period selected dictates the start time for the range of events displayed in the report.
