{"id":58913,"date":"2023-02-17T15:10:21","date_gmt":"2023-02-17T07:10:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/sentinel\/working-with-sentinel-monitors\/delete-or-disable-a-monitor\/"},"modified":"2024-07-09T08:55:02","modified_gmt":"2024-07-09T00:55:02","slug":"delete-or-disable-a-monitor","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/sentinel\/working-with-sentinel-monitors\/delete-or-disable-a-monitor\/","title":{"rendered":"Delete or Disable a Monitor"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"intro-text\">Because monitors can be quite complex to set up, you should not delete them unless you are absolutely certain that you need to.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"page-subheading\">Delete a Monitor<\/h2>\n<p class=\"note\">Privileges: To delete a monitor, you need a security role that has the <strong>Sentinel Admin<\/strong> privilege.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">To delete a monitor:<\/p>\n<ol class=\"intro-text\">\n<li>In the Workspace panel, locate the <strong>monitor <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"16\" height=\"20\" class=\"wp-image-59796\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/word-image-58913-1.png\" \/><\/strong> that you want to delete.<\/li>\n<li>Right-click on the monitor.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Delete <\/strong><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"14\" height=\"16\" class=\"wp-image-59797\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/word-image-58913-2.png\" \/><\/strong> from the monitor menu.<\/li>\n<li>At the prompt, click <strong>Yes<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">The monitor is deleted. All events and cases associated with the monitor are also deleted.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 class=\"page-subheading\">Disable a Monitor<\/h2>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">If you do not want a monitor to run, you can disable it. You can enable it when you are ready to use it again.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">A disabled monitor has a grey label in the Workspace panel. In the screenshot below, the monitors \u201dCopy of Stuck Value Random Tag\u201d and \u201cMonitor 2\u201d are both disabled.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"499\" height=\"191\" class=\"wp-image-59798\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/c-users-gabrie1-lan-appdata-local-temp-snaghtml1-1.png\" srcset=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/c-users-gabrie1-lan-appdata-local-temp-snaghtml1-1.png 499w, https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/c-users-gabrie1-lan-appdata-local-temp-snaghtml1-1-150x57.png 150w, https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/c-users-gabrie1-lan-appdata-local-temp-snaghtml1-1-48x18.png 48w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 499px) 100vw, 499px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">To disable a monitor:<\/p>\n<ol class=\"intro-text\">\n<li>Right-click on the <strong>monitor <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"11\" height=\"17\" class=\"wp-image-59799\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/word-image-58913-4.png\" \/><\/strong> you want to disable.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Edit <\/strong><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"15\" height=\"16\" class=\"wp-image-59800\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/word-image-58913-5.png\" \/><\/strong> from the monitor menu, to open the monitor.<\/li>\n<li>In the Monitor Details panel, clear the <strong>Enabled<\/strong> check box.<\/li>\n<li>Save the monitor.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">The monitor is disabled.<\/p>\n<p class=\"note\">Note: If change management is configured, the monitor must also be approved before any changes take effect.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"intro-text\">To enable a monitor, follow the same steps, this time selecting the <strong>Enabled<\/strong> check box.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"note\">Note: New monitors are enabled by default, whereas copied monitors are disabled by default.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 class=\"page-subheading\">Delete a Monitor\u2019s Events<\/h2>\n<p class=\"left-bar\">Privileges: To delete events, you need a security role that has the <strong>Sentinel Events Delete<\/strong> privilege.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">If you have the required privileges, you can delete events from a monitor.
