Select a start time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">You can set a periodic trigger to start immediately, or at a specified time in the future.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"intro-text\">\n<li class=\"intro-text\">Select the <strong>Immediately<\/strong> check box to start the trigger immediately.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Or<\/p>\n<ul class=\"intro-text\">\n<li class=\"intro-text\">Click the calendar icon to select a Start date and time for the monitor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">3. This could be a minute, 5 minutes, an hour, a week, and so on, and indicates that the trigger should run every single minute, 5 minute interval, hourly interval, and so on.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Or<\/p>\n<ul class=\"intro-text\">\n<li>Select the second option button in the <strong>Interval<\/strong> box. Then type in a number, for example 2, and select Minutes or Hours from the accompanying drop-down list.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">4. To ensure that the monitor is triggered at exact intervals from the start time, select the <strong>Quantise<\/strong> check box.<\/p>\n<p class=\"left-bar\">Tip: To set trigger times that start on the hour or on the minute, set the start time to be exactly on the hour and minute (for example, 19\/06\/2013 <strong>1:00pm<\/strong>). With the quantise check box selected, the monitor will trigger at exactly every minute, hour, day, etc. (depending on the selected interval) from that time so that your trigger times are, for example, 20\/06\/2013 <strong>1:00pm<\/strong>, 21\/06\/2013 <strong>1:00pm<\/strong>, 22\/06\/2013 <strong>1:00pm<\/strong>, 23\/06\/2013 1:<strong>00pm<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">The periodic trigger causes the monitor to start at each set interval. The interval period can be a minute, 5 minutes, an hour, a week, or every two hours, every three minutes and so on, depending on the interval settings selected.<\/p>\n<p class=\"note\">Note: The first trigger time for the monitor is the start time plus the trigger interval. Subsequent trigger start times are the last trigger time plus the trigger interval.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 class=\"page-subheading\">Date Trigger<\/h2>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">Use a date trigger to initiate monitor processing at selected <strong>date intervals<\/strong>, at a set time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">1. Select an interval (Daily, Monthly, or Yearly) from the <strong>Repeat<\/strong> drop-down list.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">4. Click the calendar icon to select a run time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"note\">Note: The first trigger time for the monitor is the next date and time selected, after the start date. Subsequent trigger times will be at the next repeat period, after the last trigger time.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 class=\"page-subheading\">Monitor Chaining Trigger<\/h2>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">You may want to trigger a monitor when various states are reached by a test within another monitor. To achieve this outcome, the triggered monitor needs a <strong>monitor chaining trigger<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">To set up a monitor chaining trigger:<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">1. Select a test from the <strong>Test<\/strong> drop-down list.\u00a0This is the particular test within the triggering monitor which will cause the new chained monitor trigger to activate.<\/p>\n<p class=\"left-bar\">Note: The drop-down list includes all of the triggering monitor tests.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">The selected test is the triggering test, and appears in the <strong>Test<\/strong> box of the trigger panel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">4. From the <strong>States <\/strong>check list, select <strong>Triggering States<\/strong>.
