For the latest versions, see <a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/p2-server\/security\/\">Security<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">Security for P2 Explorer is managed by the P2 Security application.\u00a0In P2 Security, users are placed in roles to determine the level of access they have in P2 Explorer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"left-bar\">Read more: <a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/p2-explorer\/security\/application-and-global-roles\/\">Application and Global Roles<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">P2 Explorer has 3\u00a0application roles:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"intro-text\">\n<li><strong>Explorer Administrator<\/strong>: Allows users to access the <strong>Settings<\/strong> function in P2 Explorer. This allows users with this role to administer home pages in P2 Explorer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/settings.png\" rel=\"lightbox-0\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6849\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/settings.png\" alt=\"settings\" width=\"238\" height=\"121\" srcset=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/settings.png 238w, https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/settings-150x76.png 150w, https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/settings-24x12.png 24w, https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/settings-36x18.png 36w, https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/settings-48x24.png 48w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 238px) 100vw, 238px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul class=\"intro-text\">\n<li><strong>Explorer Workspace Administrator<\/strong>: \u00a0Allows users to create workspaces, approve submitted pages, and publish pages directly to a non-private workspace (i.e. any workspace other than \u2018My Workspace\u2019).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Explorer Style Administrator<\/strong>: Allows users to create and modify styles.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">Additionally, P2 Server has 2 application roles that provide additional permissions for P2 Explorer users:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"intro-text\">\n<li><strong>Image Editor<\/strong>: Allows users to upload images via the Image Gallery, and store them in P2 Server.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tag Editor<\/strong>: Allows users to save new calculations to P2 Server.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">The process of configuring an application role is the same for all application roles.<\/p>\n<p class=\"note\"><strong>Note<\/strong>: If you are mapping\u00a0a new application role, affected users will need to log out and then log back in again for the changes to take effect.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 class=\"page-subheading\">Tutorial: Adding users with Explorer Administrator privileges<\/h2>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">An application role must first be mapped to a global role before users can be added. In this example, we're going to map the Explorer Administrators application role to a global role called \"Administrators\". Then we're going to add some users to the Administrator global role. These users will then all be Explorer Administrators. This is a 3-step process as follows:<\/p>\n<ol class=\"intro-text\">\n<li>Create a global role called \"Administrator\".<\/li>\n<li>Map the \"Explorer Administrators\" role to \"Administrator\".<\/li>\n<li>Add users to the Administrator role.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">If the Explorer Administrators application role is already mapped in your system, you may skip ahead to Step 3.<\/p>\n<h3>Step 1. Create the Administrator global role<\/h3>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/global.png\" rel=\"lightbox-1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-6861\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/global-800x274.png\" alt=\"global\" width=\"800\" height=\"274\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">1. In P2 Security, click <strong>Global Roles<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">2. Click the Add <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3222 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/addbutton.png\" alt=\"addbutton\" width=\"18\" height=\"18\" \/>\u00a0button in the Global Roles box.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">3. In the <strong>Add Global Role<\/strong> box, type the display name, internal name (must be unique), and a description as follows:<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/addglobalrole1.png\" rel=\"lightbox-2\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6862\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/addglobalrole1.png\" alt=\"addglobalrole\" width=\"500\" height=\"174\" srcset=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/addglobalrole1.png 500w, https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/addglobalrole1-150x52.png 150w, https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/addglobalrole1-24x8.png 24w, https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/addglobalrole1-36x13.png 36w, https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/addglobalrole1-48x17.png 48w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">4. Click <strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/globalroles.png\" rel=\"lightbox-3\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-6867\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/globalroles-800x267.png\" alt=\"globalroles\" width=\"800\" height=\"267\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">The Administrator global role is now created.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3>Step 2. Map the Explorer Administrators application role<\/h3>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/rolemapping.png\" rel=\"lightbox-4\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-6869\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/rolemapping-800x363.png\" alt=\"rolemapping\" width=\"800\" height=\"363\" \/><\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">1. In P2 Security, click <strong>Role Mappings<\/strong> on the left.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">2. In the <strong>Applications\u00a0<\/strong>box on the left, click the name of your Explorer application (e.g. P2.Explorer - cadrondemo01).<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">You may need to wait a few seconds for the rest of the screen to refresh with the roles for the chosen application.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">3. In the <strong>Application roles<\/strong> box on the right, click <strong>Explorer Administrator<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">4. In the <strong>Other global roles<\/strong> box on the right, click the role you just created (<strong>Administrator<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">5. Click the left arrow <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-6873 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/securityleftarrow.png\" alt=\"securityleftarrow\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" srcset=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/securityleftarrow.png 26w, https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/securityleftarrow-24x24.png 24w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 26px) 100vw, 26px\" \/>\u00a0button to add this global role to the Explorer Administrators application role.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">6. Once this role has been mapped (see screenshot below), click the <strong>Save<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/rolemapped.png\" rel=\"lightbox-5\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-6870\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/rolemapped-800x398.png\" alt=\"rolemapped\" width=\"800\" height=\"398\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">You have now mapped the Explorer Administrators application role to the Administrator global role.<\/p>\n<p class=\"note\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">If you want to assign P2 Server roles to users, repeat steps 2-6 and select the P2 Server application in step 2 instead.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Step 3. Add users to the Administrator global role<\/h3>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">Now comes the fun part \u2014\u00a0adding users so they can become Explorer Administrators.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">Note: This step assumes that the user has already been added to the system.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/userroles.png\" rel=\"lightbox-6\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-6890\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/userroles-800x378.png\" alt=\"userroles\" width=\"800\" height=\"378\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">1. In P2 Security, click <strong>User Roles<\/strong> on the left.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">2. From the <strong>Global Roles<\/strong> drop-down list, select Administrator.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">3. On the right, under <strong>Other Users<\/strong>, click the user who you want to become an administrator.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">4.
