A Related Entry field is a type of field that allows users to link one entry to another entry.<\/p>\n

The field can be used to link Case, Log, General, Loss, Availability and Gain entries, and multiple entries and entry types can be linked together.<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0 \u00a0THIS ENTRY<\/strong><\/td>\nUnder THIS ENTRY you will find the entry that is displayed in the dialog, and the forms the entry has been shared<\/a> to.
\nThe icons indicate the form type<\/a>, and the labels the form name.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
2.\u00a0 \u00a0RELATED<\/strong><\/td>\nUnder RELATED you will find the list of related entries. These entries can be opened by clicking on the relevant icon, which will open the entry in the entry dialog.
\nIf multiple entries belong to the same form you will see a circle \"\" with a number on the icon. When you click on the icon, a list of the related entries that use the form will be displayed.<\/p>\n

After opening the related entry, you can return to the previous entry by clicking on its icon in the Related menu.<\/p>\n

There are a number of ways to find a related entry:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Click in the field to open a list of the most recent entries that have the correct form types and select the relevant entry.<\/li>\n
  2. Search for an entry by typing in part of the title, and then select the relevant entry from the list.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Once an entry is selected, the entry ID is shown in the field and can be clicked on to open the entry in the entry dialog.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

The icon indicates the form type<\/a> of the selected entry.<\/p>\n

The status of the entry is displayed beside the entry icon type.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Clicking \"\" will open the search and allow you to look up an entry.<\/p>\n

Configuration<\/h2>\n

Related entries are configured in a similar way to other fields, and with\u00a0Related Entry<\/em> selected as the\u00a0Data Type\u00a0in the field configuration<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Which forms can be related are filtered by form type or specific form names.<\/p>\n

The fields can be added to log, case and general entry forms as well as loss, availability and gain forms.<\/p>\n

The A-Plus related entry field Related Case, is added to the Loss, Availability and Gain forms by default and is automatically configured by the system.<\/p>\n
