For the latest versions, see <a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/p2-server\/security\/\">Security<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">When new people start in your organisation, if you are using Windows Authentication, all users will automatically be added to P2 Security the first time they log in to P2 Explorer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">If you are not using Windows Authentication, you will need to manually add people as users in P2 Security.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">Once a user has been added in P2 Security (either automatically or manually), they will automatically be included in the <a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/p2-explorer\/security\/application-and-global-roles\/#Global_Roles\">Everyone global role<\/a>, which has read and modify permissions for all workspaces, pages, and trends in P2 Explorer.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 class=\"page-subheading\">Tutorial 1: Granting Users Permissions<\/h2>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">Users are granted permissions by being assigned to global roles.<\/p>\n<p class=\"left-bar\">Read more: <a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/p2-explorer\/security\/application-and-global-roles\/\">Application and Global Roles<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Step 1. Create the global roles<\/h3>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">1. On the left, click <strong>Global Roles<\/strong> (under Administration).<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">2. In the top right of the blue toolbar, click the <strong>Add<\/strong> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3222 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/addbutton.png\" alt=\"addbutton\" width=\"18\" height=\"18\" \/>\u00a0button . \u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/globalroles1.png\" rel=\"lightbox[6633] lightbox-0\" data-slimstat-tracking=\"false\" data-slimstat-callback=\"true\" data-slimstat-type=\"1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"border-image alignnone wp-image-6673 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/globalroles1-800x234.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"234\" \/><\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">3. Assign users to global roles<\/h3>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/userroles2.png\" rel=\"lightbox-2\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-6975 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/userroles2-800x409.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"409\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">1. In P2 Security, click <strong>User Roles<\/strong>\u00a0on the left.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">2. In the <strong>Global role<\/strong> drop-down list, select the global role that you want to add users to.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">3. Click the user you want to add to the role.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><strong>Tip<\/strong>: To add multiple users, use CTRL+click (hold down the CTRL key and click each user to select).<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">4.\u00a0Click the left arrow <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-6873 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/securityleftarrow.png\" alt=\"securityleftarrow\" width=\"26\" height=\"26\" data-pin-nopin=\"true\" srcset=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/securityleftarrow.png 26w, https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/securityleftarrow-24x24.png 24w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 26px) 100vw, 26px\" \/>\u00a0button to add this user to the global role.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">5.\u00a0Once this user\u00a0has been mapped (see screenshot below), click the <strong>Save<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/userrolesmapped.png\" rel=\"lightbox-3\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-6977\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/userrolesmapped-800x409.png\" alt=\"userrolesmapped\" width=\"800\" height=\"409\" \/><\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">You have now mapped the user to the global role. In P2 Security, click <strong>Users<\/strong> on the left.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">2. Click the <strong>Add<\/strong> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3222 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/addbutton.png\" alt=\"addbutton\" width=\"18\" height=\"18\" \/>\u00a0button on the right.<\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">3. Fill in the fields on the page as follows:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"intro-text\">\n<li>In the <strong>General<\/strong> box, type the user's name and description.\n<ul class=\"intro-text\">\n<li>Is Enabled: Selecting this check box indicates that the user is an active user.<\/li>\n<li>Is Lockdown User: Select this check box if the user is to be an administrator. This\u00a0allows the user to use the system when it is in a lockdown state.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>In the <strong>Custom Properties<\/strong>, type a display name for the user.<\/li>\n<li>In the Password Authentication box, type a login user name and password for the user.\n<ul class=\"intro-text\">\n<li>If you prefer to use Implicit or Explicit Domain Authentication, specify\u00a0the fully qualified login name required for Windows authentication (of the form <em>domain\\username<\/em>)<em>\u00a0<\/em>in the appropriate box.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"intro-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/newuser.png\" rel=\"lightbox-5\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-6941\" src=\"https:\/\/oihelp.corporate.ifs.com\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/newuser-706x600.png\" alt=\"newuser\" width=\"706\" height=\"600\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"intro-text\">4.
